Call Drop outs

Call Drop outs are the most common VoIP related problem we find on existing VoIP installations, and to find the cause of this frustrating problem involves isolating several factors. The first things to check with an existing VoIP installation are the internet connection powering the VoIP system.
  1. What type of connection are you using?
  2. Is the VoIP system sharing the internet with your data (PC's)
  3. Does your office have cat5e or cat6 data cabling install by a professional
  4. The existing equipment that you are using is it up to date with the latest firmware from the manufacture

Now that is have listed the first things to lookout for let me explain how we do brand new installation for our customers
  1. We always install a separate internet connection with all new VoIP systems, SHDSL connection is the first choice of internet because a SHDSL connection is a symmetrical which means the same speed up and down, one element to a VoIP system is that every time you talk the system will upload the speech as audio and every time you listen the system will down load the audio so you can see how a SHDSL symmetrical connection is ideal for a VoIP system of any kind

Now I know that a SHDSL connection is not cheap and not allot of small businesses can justify such an expensive internet connection so the second choice is what’s called Annex M ADSL which is a business grade ADSL connection with twice the upload of a standard connection. This connection will work quite well with up to 8 symmetrical calls I know of to ISP's with Australia that offer this connection iiNet and internode

  2. Never share your VoIP system with your PC's this practice will course your headaches the Annex M connection is only $99 per month

  3. Have your cat5 or cat6 data cabling installed by a professional it only needs to be done once and if done properly the first time you will never worry about it again. If you have data cabling and you have problems calls a cabling company to test (scan) all wall sockets and give satisfaction that all cables are fine.

  4. All VoIP systems and VoIP equipment are software as you all know software needs regular updates most brands of VoIP equipment give out their updates for free just visit their website go to downloads select your model number and download the current version firmware
