Fanvil phone support in Australia

If you have a Fanvil phone that is not doing what it should, start below.
Are you trying to reach Fanvil?
Most people who find this page are, so it is worth being straight about it.
We are not Fanvil, and we are not one of their partners, resellers or authorised agents. VoIP System is an independent Australian phone systems company. We install and service this equipment for businesses here.
What Fanvil actually make
Fanvil is a manufacturer that makes IP desk phones, along with door intercoms and paging devices. Their gear turns up most often where the budget matters, and in sites that need a door phone tied into the phone system.
They design and build the hardware overseas and sell through distributors, so support runs through whoever supplied it rather than through a local office.
What we can help with
- X series desk phones, the wired handsets that sit on a desk.
- Door intercoms and access units tied into a phone system.
- Getting Fanvil handsets registered to a phone system that was not set up for them.
Door units are the ones worth talking through rather than fiddling with, because the wiring behind them is usually the interesting part.
What to try before you call anyone
Most faults on any VoIP handset come down to the same few things, whoever made it.
- Restart the phone properly. Unplug the network cable, wait ten seconds, plug it back in, and let it finish starting up. That takes about a minute.
- Check whether every phone in the office is doing it. If they all are, the fault is the phone system or the internet connection, not the handset on your desk.
- Check the cable is in the socket marked LAN, not the one marked PC. The PC socket feeds the computer through the phone and will not bring the phone itself online.
- Move the phone to a working network port at another desk. If it comes good there, the fault is the port or the cable rather than the phone.
If one phone still will not come online after all of that, stop there. The next step is in the phone system settings, and it needs whoever looks after your phones.
Talk it through with us
If none of that sorts it, get in touch and we will work out what is going on. It helps to know the make and model, what changed just before it started, and whether it affects one phone or all of them.
The help on this page is free and there is no form in front of it.
Common questions
- Is this Fanvil?
- No. Fanvil make the hardware. VoIP System is an independent Australian company that installs and supports it. We are not a Fanvil partner, reseller or authorised agent.
- Can you help if we bought the phones somewhere else?
- Yes. Most people we help through these pages did.
- Can you get a Fanvil door intercom working with our phone system?
- Usually. It depends on the phone system and on how the door is wired, so it is worth a conversation rather than a guess.
